Why see Grand Rapids Ballet - The Nutcracker?
10 Years Of Nutcracker Magic!
The first staged performance of The Nutcracker took place in St. Petersburg, Russia on December 18, 1892, and was a collaborative effort between the great composer Peter Tchaikovsky, and the legendary choreographer Marius Petipa. Now the Nutcracker re-imagined by Polar Express author Chris Van Allsburg, with choreography by Val Caniparoli, returns to dazzle once more this year!
Once again Grand Rapids' very own ballet company, the Grand Rapids Ballet joins forces with the Grammy-nominated Grand Rapids Symphony to bring this magical story to life through a dazzling local production. Follow the young adventuress Clara as she journeys into a magical land with her beloved Nutcracker, battling errant Mice and dancing with the Sugar Plum fairy along the way
